Mumbai University violated first-year exam rules, UGC told
The Bombay University and College Teachers’ Union has written to the University Grants Commission stating that Mumbai University has violated its guidelines for conduct of first-year exams for undergraduate students of traditional streams. The union said the MU has failed to comply with the norm of having at least 90 days of teaching, and instead directed colleges to close the first semester exams by January 9—at least two weeks short of the mandatory semester academic time available for teaching.
